This company offers the most cost-effective quotation available, but as the adage suggests, "you get what you pay for." After collecting seven quotes, I ultimately decided to engage their services to replace both the upstairs and downstairs heat and AC units, as well as the second-floor ductwork. On the first day of work, they claimed to have finished installing the upstairs units and ductwork. However, upon inspection, I noticed that the vents they installed were not correctly aligned. To my surprise, they had also overlooked replacing two significant runs of ductwork, each about 40 feet in length, above the garage. It seemed they tried to conceal this oversight because accessing those areas was difficult. Unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worse after that incident. They left wires exposed outside the box on the upstairs unit and neglected to cover holes under the unit, which could allow animals to enter the basement. I had to inform them that there were plates available from York to address these openings. Additionally, the ductwork they installed was not hung correctly, resulting in pinches in the lines, and they used ductwork of the wrong size despite promising otherwise. On the second day, while working on the downstairs unit, they failed to connect the thermostat wire, rendering the unit non-functional. They attributed the issue to our Nest thermostat and left. However, I had to take matters into my own hands and correctly wire the unit myself, despite their assurance that everything was checked. Throughout the process, they consistently shifted the blame onto me for various issues and claimed to have done an exceptional job. However, I possess photographic evidence of the subpar work they performed. They had also promised that the new units would ensure balanced heat and AC throughout the house, but there is a noticeable 7-degree difference between our bedroom and our child's room. Evidently, they lacked the expertise to install the ductwork and new system effectively, leading to uneven temperatures in different rooms. In conclusion, my advice to others would be to invest a bit more money and hire a more reputable company. While they might handle minor tasks well, full installations appear to be beyond their capabilities. Moreover, I became concerned when they arrived in a different company truck than the one I received the quote from, which raises questions about their intentions and practices.
