- Please be advised, throughout 2010 WYDOT is utilizing the entrance to the Hoback Guard Station as a staging area for operations in the Hoback Canyon. Heavy equipment, traffic, and road congestion is to be expected during this time. Walk-In reservations available after September 15th, weather permitting. Please contact the Big Piney Ranger District for additional information (307) 276-5800. Hoback Guard Station will have water shut off to prevent the pipes from freezing from 09/15-05/15. The key to the GS can be collected from the Big Piney Ranger District Office, 8-4:30, MF. Arrangements can be made for after hours pick-ups if you call the district office in advance. No smoking in the Guard Station. If you bring livestock and feed the hay must be certified weed free,
