The company was founded more than 30 years ago by two professors from the University of Notre Dame— Drs. Irwin Press and Rod Ganey. Their original goal was to better understand patients’ perception of the care experience and how that affected the overall delivery of care. Three decades later, under the leadership of our CEO, Patrick T. Ryan and our highly experienced leadership team1, we aim to remain true to that mission and their legacy as we introduce new, innovative solutions to support our clients as they transform the patient experience and create continuous, sustainable improvement.
As of January 2016, Press Ganey currently serves more than 26,000 health care facilities, including, more than 60% of U.S. acute care hospitals, more than 80% of U.S. acute care hospitals with 100+ beds and over 70% of U.S. medical practices with more than 50 physicians, indicating that its comprehensive patient experience database is representative of the majority of the market. Among our comprehensive suite of performance improvement solutions, Press Ganey offers leading health care safety and reliability consulting and coaching for more than 700 hospitals across the country and is also the largest CAHPS administrator in the country, with more than 8,500 participating organizations."
