We took our dog Dakota to Karen for dog aggression and because he had growled and snapped at a stranger who tried to pet him. We didn't know how to handle these situations and worried he'd end up hurting someone or another dog. Karen knew exactly how to help Dakota feel more relaxed and confident, and how to instruct us to take charge. I rescued a male pug named Wally and he had behavior problems. I was about to give Wally back when I found out about (Karen) North West K9 Academy. Karen worked with Wally and I, together we learned how to work together and I learned how to be a pack leader. Karen is AMAZING! Her one-on-one training is the ONLY way to go. We have a 4 year old female rottweiler and at two years old she had become unruly and didn't get along with other dogs and thought SHE was the alpha. Karen taught us about dog behavior and trained us how to be good, responsible dog owners. She trained Stella to respect ME as the alpha. She is back to being a sweet dog who listens to every command the first time and has respect for her masters. She plays well with other dogs. We board Stella with Karen and she hates to leave. I rescued a pit bull off the street, didn't plan to keep her but guess what? I flunked at fostering and have never regretted it. Once we decided we were making her a permanent member of the family, we realized we needed individual training. Karen's words on the pamphlet I picked up at Walkers Healthy Pet "we can train any dog" got my attention, I called her immediately and made a date to meet. We took our dog to Karen at Northwest K9 Academy when he was about 6 months old and an unruly pup. After the first lesson he was better and he looked forward to working with her. She has done wonders with our Jake and I highly recommend her as a first class trainer!! She has remained a true friend through the years and we have boarded Jake with her several times, he loves camp at Karen's! When we adopted two "wild child" rescue border collies dogs, Karen taught us how to train them and most important, how to socialize them with our older dogs. The dogs love her and I love that she patiently spent time retraining us so that we could maintain their good behavior. It was money very well spent. They're terrific dogs and I don't think we could have turned them that way without her amazing expertise.

It's the truth! They can train ANY dog! We rescued 2 boxers who were absolutely uncontrollable. In fact, it didn't look like we were going to be able to keep them both but Karen worked very patiently with us and you wouldn't believe the difference. All our family and friends are so amazed at how wonderfully well behaved they are now. What we learned has even helped us around other people's misbehaving dogs!
