Loveless is the Valentines' magnum opus, and one of the most revered albums in rock history. After Isn't Anything laid out the band's sonic blueprint, Loveless saw those plans fleshed out with all the depth, breadth and emotion you'd expect from this incredible group.
This shirt features a graphic of the album cover and is made in South Central, Los Angeles by sewers who are paid $20 an hour or more with benefits and overtime. After spending two painstaking years in the studio and nearly bankrupting their label Creation, My Bloody Valentine emerged with a masterpiece. Loveless fully realized the sonic plans laid out on their debut, Isn’t Anything and would serve as their last album before the band broke up.
The album is often referred to as the first shoegaze record, and for good reason. It combines abrasive and experimental guitar textures with haunting melodies. Songs like "Only Shallow" and "Loomer" evoke a sense of dread while others, like the seven-minute closer "Soon," are hypnotic and melancholy.
The album has been remastered multiple times, with the most recent being done by Shields himself. This version features improved sound quality that is said to produce a different emotional response. The new version is also pressed on vinyl and features the nice segues and smooth transitions that many have come to expect from My Bloody Valentine. This release is a must-have for any fan of the band.
