Dr. Rubright earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he developed a particular interest in the anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Rubright completed his general orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. He then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and microvascular surgery at Allegheny Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There he gained extensive experience in state-of-the-art surgical and non-surgical treatment of all upper extremity conditions in adults and children.

Dr. Rubright has conducted research and published articles and book chapters on a variety of orthopaedic and upper extremity topics. His contributions have been published in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Essential Orthopaedics, Current Orthopaedic Practice, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, the Journal of Knee Surgery, the Journal of Hand Surgery, the Journal of Wrist Surgery, and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, as well as, several American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons publications.

Dr. Rubright prides himself on meticulous orthopaedic care and on honest, straight forward communication so that all of his patients have a full understanding of the medical problems they are facing and what to expect moving forward.
