Dr. Barbara Bowers is the first surgeon in Kentucky and the most experienced surgeon in our region to offer bladeless laser cataract surgery. Using the LenSx® Laser system -- the first laser to be FDA approved for bladeless cataract surgery -- Dr. Bowers is excited to provide state-of-the-art technology to her cataract patients.
She is one of a few elite surgeons in the United States to add the LenSx femtosecond laser to the WaveLight® EYE-Q Bladeless Lasik Suite and was the first eye surgeon in Kentucky with LENSTAR technology.
Innovative Ophthalmology also provides state of the art primary eye care and glaucoma treatment. SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) is a quick laser procedure performed in our office to treat glaucoma. It is extremely effective in lowering the intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients, allowing them to decrease or even discontinue their glaucoma drops. This laser procedure is covered by Medicare and insurance.
