Schema therapy is a form of psychotherapy that helps people who may not experience or benefit from other forms of therapy. For those with longstanding, negative patterns of thinking and acting, schema therapy encourages them to recognize and dispute these themes (called schemas or life traps) to feel better and function well in society.
