Contractor's web site says that his company has been installing irrigation systems since 1980. Multiple sources suggest that they have only been in business since 2009 and it shows. Very poor customer service, completely inaccurate time estimates and overall very unprofessional behavior resulted in breaking the contract few days before the installation.
I tried to use this contractor for a residential underground irrigation system installation. After receiving the estimate and signing the contract, I was given the approximate date when the installation will occur. Waiting for a couple of months for the installation is perfectly normal in this area, so I relaxed and decided to wait to hear from them. Since I never received the confirmation of receiving the signed contract nor the specific installation date, I decided to call the provided number about a month later. At first, it appeared that they didn't know if I was on their schedule at all. Later they called back and confirmed that I'm on the schedule and my system will be installed two weeks later than originally planned.Closer to the date I called again to find out the specific date and was told that I will have to wait another week, and then another week and so on.
Finally, after making several more calls I was given the specific date, I had to take a day off to be at home for them. The morning of the expected installation date, no one came or called, so I decided to call back and ask what's going on. It was a rainy morning so I suspected that they will be delayed by the weather, not a big deal. On the phone Curt told me that they won't be able to come because of the rain and they will have to reschedule. When asked that our communication needs to be improved so that I know the status of the project such that I can plan accordingly, Curt suggested that maybe his company is not the right company for my business and exited the contract.
To summarize:
- Misrepresented experience by 29 years (3 actual years vs 26 claimed)
- Unprofessional behavior
- Missed their own estimated installation dates, multiple times
- Broke signed contract
After all this, I can only give this business a NEGATIVE review and would certainly NOT recommend it to anyone.
