- Firewood Notice: Currently, firewood is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park, Trail or Forest properties from out of state or from more than 25 miles away from the destination campground. In addition, firewood that has been in a Wisconsin EAB quarantined area is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood nearby or at the property you are going to. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline 1-877-303-WOOD (9663) for information before packing for a trip. 2010: Sunrise sites AF: reservations 03/05/10 - 12/12/10. Sunrise sites 1 - 30: reservations 03/05/10 - 10/10/10. Sunrise sites 101 - 139: reservations 05/07/10 - 10/10/10. Sunrise sites 140 - 150: reservations 03/05/10 - 12/12/10 Sunrise sites 201 - 237: reservations 03/05/10 - 12/12/10 Sunset sites 301 - 347: reservations 05/28/10 - 09/06/10. Sunset sites 401 - 453: reservations 05/28/10 - 09/06/10. All other sites are closed when off reservations. Hunting is allowed at Richard Bong State Recreation area. The campgrounds and surrounding area along with other high use areas are all closed to hunting. Campers may hear gunshots, but these shots should not be of safety concern to you as you enjoy your method of recreation. If you wish an article of blaze orange clothing may be worn to increase your visibility and hunters are required to practice safe hunting. Hunters who are camping are required to keep their firearms unloaded and in a case when in closed areas. All vehicles and wheeled units must be parked on the gravel pad. Will the driveway length accommodate your vehicle (maximum 2 vehicles per site) and your camping unit? Overflow parking is available. Reservations cannot be cancelled online.
