- A typical day consists of breakfast, followed by a morning stretch class and a guided hike, as well as an afternoon kayak paddle or excursion. Fitness classes (water aerobics and yoga) are available in the afternoon and in the evening there are lectures and demonstrations on cooking, nutrition, and stress management, along with movies with hiking themes. Other than hiking, the main daily activity is a post-hike excursion to Manchester, Middlebury, Woodstock, Stowe, Rutland, or Quechee. Guests can visit local attractions including the Frog Hollow Galleries, a unique collection of traditional and contemporary Vermont crafts done by more than 250 Vermont artisans; Simon and Piece glassblowing, the Vermont Country Store, the outlets in Manchester, Danforth Pewter, the Vermont Soap Factory, Gillinghams & Sons (the oldest general store in Vermont), the Maple Museum, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and the Bowl Mill, the oldest continually-run wooden bowl mill in the United States.
