To provide high-quality compassionate care, I believe it is extremely important to educate my patients about heart disease and the reason for ordering certain tests, procedures, or medications; and then, most importantly, I listen to them, and have them play an active role in their own care. There is usually more than one way to treat one's heart condition, and I pride myself on my ability to explain this to my patients, having each patient help choose the best approach for them.
