Dr. T. Jeff Russell earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He continued his training with an Internship in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, and a Residency in Ophthalmology at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Russell then went on to complete a prestigious Fellowship in Cornea, Refractive and Anterior Segment Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
A board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Russell has been in private practice in Dallas since 1991. In addition, he served for 23 years as an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Russell is affiliated with Texas Health Resources, Presbyterian Hospital, Wise Regional Hospital System, Ophthalmology Surgery Center of Dallas, and Laser Center for Vision Care at Southwestern.
Renowned in the field of Ophthalmology, Dr. Russell has been selected as one of the Best Doctors in Dallas in D Magazine for multiple years. He is very active in professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery and Texas Ophthalmology Association, among others. In his free time, Dr. Russell enjoys playing golf, skiing, cheering on the Baylor Bears, reading classical literature, backpacking, and spending time with his wife of 30 years, his three married daughters, and son-in-law.
