More details
- Mission
- Nestled in Georgia's Chattahoochee River Valley, Columbus State University offers comprehensive learning opportunities to an enrollment of about 7,600 undergraduate and graduate students. With a recent, major capital campaign, CSU has renewed its vision of innovative learning environments, dedicated service to community and an uncompromising commitment to education excellence. Columbus State University considers itself, above all else, a teaching university. Stellar facilities on main campus and in the community bolster this mission with rich learning opportunities including the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center; the Coca-Coca Space Science Center, the Rankin Arts Center; the RiverCenter, a state-of-the-art performing arts facility that houses three performance halls, a world-class organ and the university's widely respected school of music; and a new riverside art and theatre complex that includes two State-of-the-art teaching theaters, an art gallery, and an array of specially designed art classrooms. The RiverCenter, a public-private venture, is an example of the University's extraordinarily strong community support in the historic city of Columbus, approximately 100 miles southwest of Atlanta.
